Chang Hong

Mr. Hong is General Counsel for MR Access Inc. and Managing Member of Modality Law PLLC in Boston, MA. He has over two decades of experience, having served as in-house counsel for private and public biotechnology, pharmaceutical, renewable fuels, and high-tech companies. With extensive experience in intellectual property and transactions, Chang has advised clients across the life sciences, biotechnology, and high-tech industries on financing, strategic partnerships, licensing, and IP portfolio development. He has led high-value transactions including AI-driven therapeutics, nucleic acid delivery systems, cutting-edge therapeutic platform technologies, and foundational licensing transactions for university spin-offs. As in-house counsel for emerging companies, he has built global patent estates, guided financing efforts, strategized regulatory paths, negotiated clinical trial agreements, ensured export control compliance, and managed corporate rebranding initiatives. His experience also includes counseling on complex litigation strategies, evaluation of first-to-file generic products, and commercialization pathways for pharmaceuticals, bioethanol, and food technology. He received a JD and LL.M., Intellectual Property, from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law and a B.S. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology & Music from Dickinson College.
